It was a beautiful afternoon.
The sun was shining, the beach was perfect and I had a great family to photograph.
With the beach literally at their back door,
we just had to have their session at home.

It’s not the first time we’ve had a session … in fact, Mark and Simone were one of my very first clients
when I first started out and I’ve loved seeing their family grow.

William was completely entertaining and Miss Alice was simply adorable.
We roamed around the parklands and had some fun,
bumping into at least what seemed to be a zillion frilly lizards!

Photo-a-day Project 2013
Here is a continuation of the photos that I shared earlier this month from the Photo-a-day Project that I’m taking part in.
For the month of January, I decided to take a photo of anything at all, using my mobile phone or my little compact camera and not get too upset that I wasn’t creating beautiful art with my professional camera.

Today I got to photograph a gorgeous 6 month old little girl
and she was every bit as adorable as I thought she would be
… but while she was having her morning nap,
her 2 older brothers couldn’t wait to show me their ultra cool boy’s bedroom
and read me a couple of their favourite books while I was there.
I promise there will be plenty more from this family’s session,
especially of Miss Olivia, who is simply squishable!
2013 Photography Workshop
The first of this year’s Photography Workshops
promises to be a great day.
It’s a wonderful opportunity to learn about your camera settings and how to use them
to get the types of photos you’re wanting.
This hands on workshop will have you shooting in Manual mode during the afternoon
with a real family, putting into practice what you learnt during the morning.

Photo-a-day Project 2013
I’m always inspired by those who take part in the Photo-a-day Project.
It’s where you take a photo of something … anything … whatever you like … each day!
Some dedicated people do it every day for a year and it’s fabulous.
I’ve done it once before for the month of January but only did it for a handful of days.
I got so hung up about getting a ‘good shot’ with my ‘good camera’ that I gave up.
This time, I’ve joined in the fun and decided to take a much more laid back approach to it.
I’ll be sharing a photo from each day using whatever equipment is nearest to me,
whether that be my mobile phone, my compact camera and if my dSLR is out, then I may even use that
(but that will a very rare occasion).
This year, it’s all about taking it easy and enjoying the challenge.
Here are the first 10 days of 2013 – some taken by me and the odd one by my family.

This session was part of my mini sessions and while they’re only 30 minutes long, they’re a great way to update your photos if you regularly have them done like this family do.
I always love catching up with these guys especially to see how the children have grown!
Last year, Holly was a little baby and now she’s a fun loving girl who has so much fun with her big brother, Charlie.
