Leanne Stamatellos

Shelby – Brisbane State High School Formal Photographer

• leanne •

I’d photographed Shelby with her family several years ago when they travelled to the island of Kythera in Greece for a family holiday.

I was thrilled to be asked to photograph her and her friends at the pre-party before they left to officially celebrate at their end of year High School Formal.

Enjoy this small collection of some of my favourite photos.

“Leanne recently photographed our daughter’s pre-formal event at our home which resulted in many absolutely exceptional once-in-a-lifetime priceless memories of this significant moment for us. With her special magic Leanne captured the very essence of our daughter and more.
We were all completely delighted (and teenage daughters are often very hard to please when it comes to capturing their images so this is some compliment!) and will treasure these photos and the ones of our whole family forever. Leanne’s job for us that day also included individual and family photos of all our daughter’s friends and their families and she managed this heavy workload with calm and clear direction, and rolled with the various requirements of the individual kids and their parents. There were even some humorous photos which, along with the “serious” photos, have been heavily instagrammed since the event too. Leanne exceeded our expectations and we will now be forever grateful. Thank you!”

Danny + Carolyn + Hugh + Lucy – Kangaroo Point Cliffs Photographer

• leanne •

This family lifestyle session was a gift to Danny for Father’s Day from his beautiful wife, Carolyn, and children, Hugh and Lucy.

We spent a lovely afternoon walking along the Brisbane river taking in the sights and sharing bad jokes with each other. Enjoy this small collection of some of my favourite images from their session.

“Leanne recently took some family photos for us. We had very few photos of us a family of 4 and our kids were growing rapidly. Photos were on my to do list for some time. I told Leanne that I primarily wanted one big photo of all of us for the wall in our lounge room. That’s exactly what I got! Our photo is now the feature piece in our lounge room and I absolutely love it.”

Matthew + Robyn + Elsa – Kedron Newborn Photographer

• leanne •

Being asked to come and photograph a newborn in a family’s home is one of the most precious sessions that I can be asked to do. Knowing that a new little person has come into a couple’s life and documenting this very special time is priceless.

Matthew and Robyn invited me into their home to photograph their beautiful daughter, Elsa, and I know that these images are very much loved by them. Miss Elsa is fast approaching her first birthday so I can only imagine how much she’s grown since the day she came into this world.

Enjoy this small collection of some of my favourite images from this family’s Newborn Session.

Danny + Kate + Darcy – Teneriffe Family Photographer

• leanne •

What a beautiful way to celebrate the love these parents have for their son, Darcy, with a Family lifestyle session.

They took a relaxing stroll through the laneways in Teneriffe, laughing and enjoying each other’s company and finished up with the best gelato Brisbane has to offer.

So much fun hanging out with these guys!

Brisbane Powerhouse Family Session

• leanne •

Enjoy this collection of some of my favourite images from this gorgeous Brisbane Powerhouse Family Session.

Love, love, love, love, love!

I’m not sure that I need to write anything else about this family.
Seriously, so much love all wrapped up into a fun and crazy family session.

These guys jumped off chairs, threw leaves in the air, had piggy back rides, kissed, cuddled, tickled and went for some family walks around the fabulous Brisbane Powerhouse at New Farm.

The Brisbane Powerhouse is an exciting place to have your Family Session. There are so many diverse locations to choose from and all within walking distance from each other. From the graffiti walls and old brick structures to the picturesque New Farm Park, this is always a favourite place to visit.

Damian + Jacinta + Sam + Ben

• leanne •

I’m often asked if there’s a ‘right time’ to have family portraits taken.
The answer is really simple – absolutely not – just do it now!

You will never regret having beautiful, relaxed photos taken of your family. It doesn’t matter whether your children are just starting to walk or whether they are about to leave the family home and go onto to new adventures – they’ll always be your children and there will always be something very precious to remember about the connections you have with each other.

So when Jacinta contacted me to photograph her family, she mentioned that she had an adult family and despite being a little concerned that she’d left it too late to  have her family photographed, she wanted to do it celebrate her husband, Damian, turning 50.

Jacinta opted for a morning session and while her boys were probably not too thankful for the early start, they were terrific!
We settled in gently with a few relaxed family photos then a stroll along the river and finished up by throwing the footy on a beautiful sandy beach under the Story Bridge.

It was a pleasure to create these images for this beautiful family and I know they will always bring back fond memories of this special time in their lives.

“We hadn’t had any professional photos taken of us as a family since the boys were very young and being that my boys are 19 and 17, I decided it was time. I was introduced to Leanne when she kindly donated a prize for a charity that I am involved with. I knew of friends that had recently had a family portrait taken by Leanne so I was confident that she would do a wonderful job. Leanne was amazing to work with especially with 2 older boys who don’t enjoy having their photos taken at the best of times. She kept the photography session very relaxed and had some fabulous ideas for our photos. Her professionalism and beautiful kind nature made our experience so easy. The hardest part was deciding on which photos we wanted to purchase as they were all so beautiful. Leanne made my decision much easier by coming over to our house with all of the proofs which enabled me to visualise the pictures hanging on the walls. I would highly recommend Leanne to my family and friends as I am confident that she will capture the special family moments with ease.” – JACINTA

Jacinta chose classic Custom Framed Fine Art Prints to showcase her favourite images.

A beautiful set of three images near the entry of her home featuring a full length portrait of each of the boys and one of them together
as well as a striking larger piece featuring a relaxed family portrait in her dining room.

Simon + Bridget + Hayden – Kedron Brook Photographer

• leanne •

Photographing families in and around their home is a beautiful way to remember a particular time their lives. I spent a lovely afternoon with Simone, Bridget and Hayden along with their two adorable toy cavoodles, Audrey and Alfie. We started at their home and then went for a stroll along the picturesque Kedron Brook Trail on Brisbane’s inner northside. Twelve year old Hayden led the way and together we discovered some fabulous locations to photograph in and around.

It was such a pleasure to photograph the beautiful connections that this family have with each other. So much love for each other and their adorable toy cavoodles.

Enjoy this selection of some of my favourite images from their family session.

Kevin + Kate + Joseph – Southbank Family Photographer

• leanne •

Kate contacted me to have some family photos taken and chose Southbank as the location for their session. It was truly beautiful and showcased not only her family but also Brisbane in the most wonderful way – the bougainvillea were in full flower and looked spectacular. It was especially lovely for them to be able to take these images back to Canada a few months later where they would be visiting Kevin’s family – taking 5 month old baby Joseph to meet them for the first time.

Enjoy this collection of some of my favourite images from their family session.

I absolutely loved that they chose to hang one of my favourite images in Joseph’s nursery.
A timeless custom framed fine art print – a true keepsake!

“I had no hesitation in calling Leanne after she had worked with my sister and her family some years before. She had always said how lovely she was and of course the photos were beautiful. My only worry  initially was the cost but I actually thought the price was very reasonable, especially with the home visit after the photoshoot to help me in choosing what products to pick. I also felt under no pressure to spend a certain amount. I was particularly grateful that she understood our tight timeframes in wanting to get photos before the busy Christmas period and that she was able to make this happen. It was so lovely that we could take the photos with us and give them as gifts to our family in Canada. At the photoshoot Leanne made us feel at ease and not embarrassed or self-conscious – it was nice to have a mix of some “staged” and some ‘candid’ shots. It was actually quite a lovely way to spend the Sunday morning.”

Antony | Villanova College Formal

• leanne •

It was such a pleasure to photograph this fabulous group of young men from Villanova College at their pre-formal party along with their partners and families. I might be a touch biased as my nephew, Antony, was part of the group but the boys looked incredibly handsome starting with their stylish suits right down to their colourful socks. I was able to spend time photographing each of the boys, their families and also their partners. I loved gathering them all together for a group shot where they could hang out, relax and have a laugh or two before they head off for an amazing evening with their gorgeous partners.

Enjoy this small collection of some of my favourite photos.

I absolutely love this last photo of all the mother’s of the boys, standing proudly on the verandah above them.
I’m sure they were all thinking ‘where did the years go?’

“Antony’s formal photos were all amazing. Even the boys were impatient to receive them, making me call Leanne while they were on schoolies! Loved the individual ones and the group shots making it impossible to pick a favourite. So happy Leanne got to share her nephew’s special night with us. x”

Andrew + Erica + Grace + Ricky | Kangaroo Point Cliffs Photographer

• leanne •

From the moment I met 4 year old Grace, I knew I was in for a fun and fabulous session.
Full of energy and joy, she kept me on my toes and we played from start to finish.

I loved photographing the beautiful connection she has with her parents and it was a pleasure to photograph Grace with her grandmother, Ricky, who was visiting from South Africa.

Enjoy this small collection of some of my favourite images from this session held under the Kangaroo Point Cliffs.

“Leanne ensured our family photo session was so much fun for our 4 year old which ensured that Grace’s character shone through in all the photos.
It was a great experience for all the generations.”
