January Photo-a-Day 2011
I had good intentions this year of participating in a fun challenge called Photo-a-Day or PAD to those in the know! It’s designed to get you to photograph simple things in your daily life and certainly not meant to be difficult.
With one thing and another, it never happened every day but I thought you might like to see the days that I did take photos.
January 1 , 2011 – my kids had never played with a hose or the sprinkler due to the water restrictions in Brisbane, so on New Years Day when the neighbours called out to ‘get your togs on’, they were out in a flash. Light rain and the odd squirt of Morning Fresh detergent made this the best ‘slip and slide’ ever.
– 2011 –
It’s been a very sad start to 2011.
Major floods affected many parts of Brisbane and Queensland while we were holidaying with our family at The Gold Coast. It has been so upsetting to watch on the TV but even worse to see the devastation when we returned home. We are so fortunate to have personally not been affected but know of many who have. My thoughts and prayers are with those who suffered any loss and I hope that with all the incredible help and support that has been shown, life will return to some sort of normality as soon as possible.

On a happier note,
I’m excited to say that my new website and blog will be launching over the next couple of months. I have a new logo and I can’t wait to show you how it looks. I have my talented friend, Eliza, to thank for it all – she is seriously one incredible girl.
The year haa started to fill with bookings already. There will be lots of images to see so please drop by and stay in touch.
And because it’s no fun to have a post without a photo,
here are the canvases that arrived before Christmas for one of my lovely families – I can’t wait to see how they look on their wall.
Thank you for a wonderful 2010!
Thank you for the incredible support that I have received this year at Leanne Stamatellos Photography – I am quite overwhelmed!
I’m so thankful to have photographed so many gorgeous families, incredible parties and stunning weddings this year. It’s been even lovelier to share my favourite images with you and read the encouraging and kind comments on my blog and Facebook.
It’s been a big year and I’m thrilled to have had some of my work featured in Brisbane News Magazine, Peekaboo Magazine and so many beautiful blogs – I truly want to say thank you!

Take a look at three of the most gorgeous kids – of course I may be a little biased since they are my cousin’s children, but they really are! I recently had the pleasure of photographing them along with their 7 cousins and their granddad. It was a gift for Bob, to celebrate his 70th birthday and all he wanted was a photo with all his grandchildren – don’t you love that!

The Stamatellos Christmas Card – 2010
I loved creating our Christmas Card this year – it was the easiest one to photograph ever because the kids couldn’t wait to choose a prop and do some crazy poses. They even got to take the photos that I was in. Special thanks to my neighbour, Roxanne, who was roped into pressing the shutter for the family shot – what would you do without neighbours?!
.
They were printed long and skinny like a bookmark, double sided and coated with a high gloss finish.
This was the style of card that my clients received when they did the
Photo Booth Xmas Mini Shoot this year with me – they were such a hit!
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas!
Olivia’s album
Those who know me will know how passionate I am about having a beautiful album of images to keep from your session. I love framed prints and canvases but if I could just have one item it would be an album so that I could look at as many images as possible to remind me of the day.
I’m excited that so many of my clients are embracing this idea and giving me free reign to design them a beautiful keepsake. Take a look at the one that the delightfully talented, Sharnel received not that long ago from her daughter’s, Olivia, 6th birthday party.
This 40 page album featured a stunning custom cover that was designed by Sarah from Style Me Gorgeous to co-ordinate with the invitations that she also made for the party. The album pages were gorgeous and thick with some images spanning right across the centre. It’s a very special keepsake and a wonderful reminder of all the beautiful details, the party games and the adorable little fairy guests.
Take care!
More Christmas Mail !
Christmas is fast approaching and definately deserves the term ‘silly season’
alot of the time. I guess that’s why I love creating beautiful Christmas Cards for my clients because I know that it brightens your day when you open the mail to find that someone has taken the time to think of your family during this hectic time.
.
Of course seeing photos of your friends and their children, if they have them, is an added bonus.
.
Take a look at the beautiful cards that Mark, Simone & William sent this year to their family and friends. They were custom designed and made as a 5x5inch square folded card using images from their Christmas Mini Session. They had a beautiful high gloss finish on the front and back of the card. I absolutely loved them.
You’ve got mail!
One of the most favourite things that I love, is receiving cards in the mail. I love the sound of the postman riding towards our house and by chance that amongst the endless bills and junk mail there is a card then I’m thrilled.
.
It’s that time of the year when the Christmas cards are being sent out and today when I received this card from one of my favourite clients and friend, Fleur, I was excited. A few months ago, you may recall the fun beach session we had with Angus and Millie – this card was the result of the session and I loved how they turned out. I had them printed on the loveliest watercolour paper with gorgeous parchment envelopes.

Wedding Album
I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Sandy and Stephen’s album.
This beautifully handcrafted Australian made album contained the precious images from their Wedding Day. It was every bit as special as I had hoped it to be – packaged with white gloves and care information, delicate vellum sheer starter page and incredibly high quality thick pages. They chose a stunning Flushmount Album in one of my favourite sizes – 8x12inches.
The photos looked incredible.

Here are a few images that I took before I handed it over to them to enjoy for the rest of their lives.
