This session was definately one of my all time favourites for so many different reasons.
Sue asked me to photograph her daughter, Elise and herself with only one request … that I capture the special close bond that they share – I was thrilled.
On top of that, Elise is a dancer and a very good one at that, so we definately would have to get some dance shots in the session – and we did!
Elise chose the location and I can only say that each and every spot she took me too was incredible – she’s got an eye and is now my official ‘Sydney location spotter’.
I wish I could have posted all the photos from this session – there were so many to choose from.
Thank you Sue and Elise for being so open to any ideas I had and for coming up with some cool ones of your own – you girls had all the moves and I loved that!

I loved this red phone booth – nice spotting Elise.
How good does Sue look – woohoo!
And Elise, what can I say?
You were amazing on those points – wait until you see the rest of this series – wow!

Gorgeous, right?

The camera just loved the two of you … me too!

Don’t you love how Elise is looking at her mother ?

OK Elise, you are just too gorgeous!

Like I said before, this was such a special shoot for me.
Thank you Sue and Elise for giving me the chance to capture your incredible friendship.

I was thrilled when Diane asked if I would photograph her family when I came to Sydney.
We’ve been internet friends for a while and she was just as beautiful in person
as she has been over the internet.
Diane is a fabulous ‘simple scrapbooker’ – if you have time to look at her blog then you’ll love her work.
We met at Bondi Beach in Sydney at 6.30pm. It was a gorgeous evening with the most beautiful light. Diane had planned every last detail for me – beautiful co-ordinating outfits for her family and a couple of changes of clothing for Maddy and Livvy that were just mega-adorable.
I knew that the session would be great when we started with some photos like this!

Check out Dani’s gorgeous eyes.

You can’t half tell that Maddy and Livvy love the beach.

Are they not just the most adorable crochet bikinis?

A change of outfit and the girls looked so sweet.

This is one of my favourite photos – they were chasing seagulls!

Talk about a good looking family – Tony you are one lucky man.

This foot shot was a special request by Diane – love the sandy toes.

Actually, I think this might be my favourite especially since Diane said she hadn’t had a nice pic with her husband since her wedding day – you both look amazing!

Thanks again for letting me spend some time with you and your family.

It was wonderful to meet you Di and hope to see you in sunny Brisbane some time soon.

It was a perfect afternoon for my first family session in Sydney last week.
It was made even better when I met this gorgeous family.
Marie had mentioned to me that James knew all the moves and he would not be camera shy – she was right! As for Emily, I was expecting a more challenging session but she was simply adorable from the start.

Rob and Marie were the picture perfect family.

Emily had me laughing so hard here – she was dancing for her mummy!

And did I mention how cool they all looked – check out James’ sneakers!
(just like his Dad’s)

Yes, they looked amazing!

And then onto some boy’s tackling!

And a more gentle tea party for the girls!

Thanks so much Rob and Marie for allowing me to capture some photos of your beautiful family.
It was the perfect start to my visit to Sydney.

Stay tuned for more …

I’ve had such a great start to the new year and have just arrived home from 2 weeks of sun and surf with my beautiful family at the Gold Coast.
The weather was devine and I even managed a small, healthy tan – that’s something for me.
While I was there I snuck away to Sydney for a workshop and some sessions with the most amazing families – stay tuned for more posts over the coming weeks.
I wanted to quickly share just one photo from the workshop before I had an early night
– there will be more I promise tomorrow with lots and lots of details of my time away.
Great to be back!

Award

Today I had an email from a lovely friend, Esti Erasmus, who follows my blog and she wanted to give me a blog award – what a lovely thing to receive in my emails today. Thank you Esti.

If you’d like to take a look at her lovely blog, here’s where to go – Esti Erasmus.
She’s asked that I list 7 things about myself that you wouldn’t know.
1. I’m the eldest child in my family and also the eldest grandchild.
2. I remember playing with my Dad’s SLR camera (Nikon I think) as a young child and trying to figure out how to get the dial to go into the middle.
3. I like to eat my chocolate cold from the fridge.
4. I don’t drink coffee.
5. I love my house to be clean but I hate wasting my time doing it.
6. I can keep a secret.
7. I love freshly painted toenails.
There you go, thanks again Esti for this.
Now, off to finish writing those Christmas Cards of mine before the big day arrives.

Of course, you get to have lots of fun too which is the best part!

Can’t wait to see my Sydney friends soon.

It’s Christmas time ….

• leanne •

Well they don’t call it the silly season for no good reason.
Not only has the year flown by but now December is here and my youngest son, Joshua (3.5yrs old) keeps asking each morning if Santa has been – not long now!

I’ve had a wonderful year with my photography with all my business coming from word of mouth. It’s a powerful thing and I appreciate all the referrals from family and friends. All orders have been sent out and final orders for Xmas cards are going out this week.

I’m looking forward to a special Christmas and also a really rewarding 2010.

January is shaping up to be a really busy month. I’m booked solid with sessions and I’ll also be heading to Sydney for 3 days to attend a workshop by Jasmine Star – voted one of the top 10 wedding photographers in the world. While I’m there I’ll be photographing some gorgeous families (will be contacting you all soon to confirm details). I have one session time still available for Wednesday,January 14, 2010 – feel free to email me if you’re interested in taking that spot.

Then in March I’ll be heading over to Las Vegas to attend one of the biggest events in the Photographic Industry – WPPI. It’s a convention for Wedding and Portrait photographers with over 12,000 photographers flying in from all over the world to attend.
I will be fortunate enough to be taught by YERVANT (Wedding Photographer of the Year – in the entire world) in a small class of 25 students for 2 entire days as well as attend so many fantastic lectures and classes by the leading photographers in the industry. I can hardly believe I’m going and can’t wait to put into practice what I learn.

Thank you again for all the support I’ve received and the lovely comments that are left on my blog.

I wish you and your families a magical Christmas and a fantastic New Year.
Best wishes,
Leanne
