Leanne Stamatellos

I had a late afternoon session with Charlie and his parents last weekend. He was almost 1 year old and he had me running to capture some photos of him. I was running down the jetty, running under the jetty, running on the sand and running in the water. He is adorable and such an easy going little boy. Thank goodness, Katrina grabbed a few changes of clothing – he went through them all while attempting to join the kite surfers that day.

Here are a few of my favourite photos of Charlie and his family.

Something about this shot I absolutely love.

I can see this really big on canvas!

I captured so many lovely photos from this session last weekend. Nothing was too much to ask and everyone went along with my ideas. The girls kept both Charlie and William laughing and smiling all morning with their beautiful songs.
Take a look at Charlie – 7 months old and sitting like a pro.
This image just has to be blown up on a canvas – look at that beautiful face.

Charlie with his stunning mum, Cassie.

Meet William – isn’t he just adorable!

Attemping a quick getaway!

Doesn’t he have a beautiful mum in Simone!

Grant and Stephanie – how cool is this couple! We got to capture some ‘kid free’ photos here.

Check out William’s hairdo – nice!

aww – just like a little cabbage patch doll.

Such a good looking family.

Love this one!

How excited is William that he’s standing – 10 months old.

More kid free pics!

This is a favourite of mine – Stephanie you look amazing!

Thanks again for a fun session – discs and photos will be out soon.

You know you’re going to get some fun photos when you have four gorgeous young boys, with the greatest smiles and terrific personalities. Of course it helps when looked as cool as they did in their gear – thanks Lisa !
Here’s Perry … too cool.

Doesn’t this photo make you smile? This is Toby.

Gorgeous George! How sweet is he!

And the charismatic Liam – he had so many great ideas for this session.

One of my favourite collages ever …. love to see this big and on a wall.
Here’s one of Liam’s ideas – anyone need a photographer’s assistant?
Lisa was quite happy to have photos of the boys only … how could I do that?
So here’s the photo I promised you’d be out of focus in.
Cool, cool, cool!

Wish we had brought some empty spray cans to make this look more authentic – the boys loved this wall – tried some ACID processing on this shot – does it work?
And, the last shot of the day … capturing real life – I love it!
Great idea Damien.
Thanks again for a great afternoon – it was a pleasure to capture some photos of the family.
Can’t wait to make your Christmas cards with your favourites.

With the Christmas season sneaking up on us, things are getting pretty busy around here. Last weekend, I had so much fun photographing Annette and her gorgeous family. We started at this terrific park near their home with an old fashioned swing tied to a huge tree – the kids had a ball and I have some great action shots. Then we head down to a secluded little beach where we took some more photos – it was a lovely afternoon.

Here are a few photos from the session – I hope you like them!

I told you they were a gorgeous family – thanks for looking.
More sessions later in the week.

Fleur – 40th celebration

• leanne •

I am so fortunate to have such amazing clients who are open to ideas.
A while ago, Fleur asked me to photograph her birthday party and I knew it would be a great night.
She also asked if I would create her invitations – one thing lead to another and I created that and so much more for her.
It was a pleasure to work with someone who trusted me completely and loved the final result.
Some of you may remember this photo of the box with all the goodies I had made.
Well, scroll down and you’ll get to see what was inside along with the gorgeous Fleur at her Party!

A clipboard for guests to sign in and leave birthday wishes, envelope address labels, candy bag labels, save the date emails.
A powerpoint presentation for her to put her photos growing up and shown on the night.

Some pretty wrapped ROLO bars and candies.

The gorgeous Ms Fleur!

Simply stunning!

Her cupcakes in paper lace cases.

An amazing candy bar – so glad you went with this idea Fleur – I’m sure you’ll have clients asking you to organise this for their functions too.

The take home candy bags.

and a favourite photo of Fleur’s son under the candy table – so cute!

Thanks Fleur for asking me to capture these and many more photos at your 40th Birthday party – you looked amazing!

Fleur – 40 & fabulous!

• leanne •

Now here’s a girl who knows how to throw a party.
Fleur celebrated her 40th birthday in style at Emporium Cocktail Bar with 60 or so of her closest friends and family. It was a gorgeous evening and I have lots of photos to share but I wanted to put this one up as a little teaser.

Happy Birthday Fleur!

Val’s 80th Birthday celebration

• leanne •

What a great way to celebrate turning 80!
With an Audrey Hepburn style party – with pearls and tiaras!
Val and her beautiful family and closest friends celebrated at her favourite Croquet Club last Friday late in the afternoon. They played croquet, drank champagne and cocktails, ate canapes and laughed and enjoyed each other’s company. I took some photos and then as the sun set, the fairy lights looked magical on the prettiest marquee in Brisbane.
This is Val … how youthful is she!
(both on the inside and outside I might add)

How pretty is that marquee!

The table was beautifully styled with adorable personalised handbag favour boxes.

You may recognise Angus from a previous post where I photographed his family. He got into the swing of things literally.

And I was more than happy to photograph Little John – he is one of two great grandchildren that Val is fortunate to have – yes that’s right … great grandchildren!

And the wild and wonderful ‘shop girls’ who I could hardly keep in focus because they were dancing around so much – love this photo!

And finally a big group photo of all the family and friends who enjoyed this wonderful day!

Happy Birthday Val – you were so fun and youthful to photograph !

Breast Cancer Foundation Fundraiser

• leanne •

Last week I attended the ‘You Sexy Mother’ Breast Cancer Foundation Fundraiser as a guest. I also was asked to take some photographs on the night – it was a fantastic evening and lots of fun.
The girls who organised the event asked the author of ‘You Sexy Mother’ – Jodie Hedley-Ward – to be the guest speaker. She was terrific, down to earth and funny. After hearing her read parts of her book, it seems like something all Mums need to have on their coffee table.
I put together this slide show for the girls – wait until the last slide show to read how much money was raised on the night – it was fantastic and for such a good cause.

Jordan – semi formal photographs

• leanne •

I had the pleasure of photographing Jordan on the afternoon of her semi-formal.
She’s a gorgeous girl (inside and out) and I couldn’t wait to process her images.
Here are a small handful of my favourites.

Fourteen of her girlfriends along with partners and parents joined her family for a celebration before they all left in a giant red party bus headed for Portside for the big night. Hopefully I should have some more photos to share in the next couple of days of these gorgeous girls.

believe it or not!

• leanne •

My wonderful and talented friend Eliza has been helping me to learn how to create a slideshow and also how to upload it to my blog – she has been so patient and I can’t thank her enough – I think if you click on the link below you’ll get to see my first slideshow – hooray!

The next one will have music – off to learn how now – what would I do without you Eliza!
