Mary – 90th Birthday Celebration

My dear grandmother, Mary, turned 90 years young this weekend and we celebrated with 48 of her nearest and dearest friends and family at Simla House at the Spicers Balfour Hotel in New Farm.

It was a beautiful gathering where we were able to honour her and celebrate this incredible milestone. There were a handful of wonderful speeches – Mary’s daughter, Katreena (my Mum), spoke from the heart as we tried to hold back the tears followed by the 3 great grandchildren, Genevieve 15, Ethan 15 and Joshua 12, who shared some delightful stories that had us all laughing.

I’m so thankful to have my remarkable grandmother in my life and I wish her only the very best – here’s to good health, much joy and lots of happiness always!

Emma – Brisbane Personal Branding Session

I absolutely loved working with Emma.

She contacted me to create some fresh, new, modern personal branding images for her soon to be released website and she had a clear vision of how she wanted the images to look. I recall her telling me that she was hoping for something ‘elegant, sophisticated, soft, professional and strong but feminine’.

Emma is the Principal Consultant at Brownstone and has extensive management, program and project experience specifically with the Department of Defence and other major global companies.

To begin with, I created a private Pintrest board where we were able to share favourite images between ourselves. We chat about thoughts on what to wear and locations around Brisbane that might suit the style she was after. The morning was spent having hair and makeup done by two of the best in Brisbane, Carole Haddad from Corcorz Hair and Janise Chan from JDolls, followed by lots of fun and laughter as we discovered some new and fabulous spots around inner city Brisbane to take the photos.

Shaun + Jessica + baby Charlotte Erin – Brisbane Newborn Photographer

I was in love the moment I met baby Charlotte Erin – what an absolutely gorgeous little angel she was! Perfect in every way possible, Charlotte had me ‘oohing’ and ‘ahhing’ while I spent the morning with her – she was simply divine!

Photographing in her home with her adoring parents, Shaun and Jessica, along with their two boisterous and loving labradors Oscar and Bruno, was a beautiful way to capture some very precious moments in this family’s life.

Special thanks go to Shaun who patiently ‘encouraged’ Oscar and Bruno to sit and stay for this beautiful family portrait. There were many treats for these two playful labradors and lots and lots of laughs and out-takes to get this one image … but it was so worth it!

“After the arrival of our little girl Charlotte, I was looking for a photographer who would be able to capture some beautiful memories of her as a newborn, along with some candid family shots. Leanne came highly recommended by my sister in law Melissa, and it didn’t take long to see why.

From the initial consultation right up until the delivery of our photos, Leanne was ever the professional and such a pleasure to deal with. Everything came beautifully presented, and we could not have been happier with the final prints. Lauren | Brisbane Girls Grammar High School Formal Photographer

Classically beautiful, elegant, sophisticated, exquisite, graceful … simply breathtaking!

Lauren is all of this and so much more – a softly spoken, intelligent and gentle girl who I had the pleasure to photograph just before she left for her high school formal. We spent some time creating beautiful portraits of her alone to mark the occasion and then with her family and formal partner before she left to celebrate at The RNA Brisbane Showgrounds.

Baby Matheos’ Christening | Greek Orthodox Christening Photographer

I was thrilled to be asked to photograph the Christening day of Peter and Kelly’s second born child, Matheos. It had only been a couple of years earlier that I had photographed Christos, their first born, on his Christening day. It was held at the magnificent St George Greek Orthodox Church in South Brisbane followed by lunch at The Greek Club.

Twelve year old Dimitri was asked to be Matheos’ Godfather as both Peter and Kelly share a close connection with his parents. He proudly accepted the responsibility and did a wonderful job throughout the ceremony.

I photographed Matheos a few days later in a mini session wearing his beautiful christening outfit, shoes, hat and cross.

Besides choosing a beautiful storybook album, 4 large pieces of wall art for the wall, and some smaller framed prints for the family, it was also a pleasure to create the thank you cards for Matheos featuring four of my absolute favourite images of him.

I love Brisbane Extended Family Photoshoot

What better way to celebrate a milestone birthday than with a beautiful extended family session!!

When Raylee contacted me about her Mum turning 70, she expressed that her and her brother’s family were keen to have a family session with their parents. It was also important that they gifted their Mum, Gail, with a Custom framed fine art print featuring the entire family from the session on her actual birthday so we planned the date in advance and spoke about possible locations, suggestions on what to wear and what to expect.

Roma Street Parklands was truly beautiful on the day and it was the perfect backdrop for this family’s session.

The little details

It’s the little details that often help to tell the story and so I love to find those details that you’ll look back on with a smile and photograph them.

Whether it be the way they curl their hair with their pinky finger, or laugh out loud when Dad tells them a bad joke. Maybe it’s just the funny socks they love to wear or the inseparable teddy bear that they carry around with them everywhere. I want you to remember the little things.

I’m quite behind in blogging my family sessions and this one was a favourite from such a long time ago. These three gorgeous sisters have grown so much since their family session but I just had to share it finally on the blog.

I loved getting to know these guys – such a playful, loving family. They are so blessed to have each other – John especially lucky to be surrounded his gorgeous wife, Mandy, and their 3 beautiful girls. Then again, these four girls are lucky to have John too – gotta love a man who wears pink, right?!

How could I say ‘no’? A family photo session on the island of Kythera, Greece!

It was so beautiful and what was even lovelier was that the session took place at the old family property that belonged to generations before them. Years and years of history – white washed walls and stacked stone fences. Geraniums in full bloom and the mediterranean sun setting in the distance.

I can’t wait to return to visit the village of Paliopoli – it was truly memorable.

Paris | Sommerville House High School Formal

I love high school formal sessions – oh I REALLY LOVE them!!

Paris looked stunning! She wore a custom-made full length black gown. A beautiful blue belt, encrusted with shells and stones, was a striking addition.

She looked radiant and we laughed and had fun together as I photographed her before she left with her handsome partner for the Sommerville House High School Formal.
