Family Photography Brisbane
There’s no other family just like yours and there never will be. I love family photography in Brisbane using natural light in a storytelling style. For me, it’s all about noticing the little things that make each family unique. I’ll be capturing those ‘in-between’ moments – moments that are natural and unforced and really represent the connections that you have within your family. I want to tell your story so you can look back and remember this time in your lives.
YOUR SESSION FEE – WHAT’S INCLUDED?
Your family session fee is $200 and includes:
- A phone call to chat about your family, what to expect, ideas on what to wear and suggestions for the perfect location.
- A photographic session on location – around an hour, sometimes a little longer.
- A private online gallery with the best images fully edited for you to view.
- An in-home consultation to suggest design concepts that will customise and showcase your favourite images.
I’d love to send you my Catalogue which features all of the beautiful products that I offer – contact me for pricing and more information about having your family photography session, or feel free to keep scrolling for more information and answers to frequently asked questions.
About Your Family Photography Brisbane Session
BEFORE YOUR FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY IN BRISBANE SESSION
I’d love to hear all about your family – all the quirks that make you guys YOU!
We’ll chat over the phone and talk about you, your kids and what you love to do together as a family. I want to know as much as I can about you so I can make your session a true reflection of who you all are! We’ll also talk about what time to book your session, possible locations and ideas on what to wear.
DURING YOUR SESSION
We’re going to have more fun than you ever thought possible. Your family photography in Brisbane session will probably take around an hour – maybe a little longer and your family will feel like they’re simply hanging out and having a good laugh. Be prepared though, I’m known to have some pretty bad ‘Dad jokes’ in my repertoire so feel free to come along with some new material for me.
AFTER YOUR SESSION
I’ll only be choosing the best images from your family photography session. You won’t see any where you’re blinking or not looking absolutely gorgeous! I aim to have your images fully edited in my classic, clean style within 2 weeks of your family photography session. I’ll organise a private and password-protected online gallery with all your images so that you can login from the comfort of your home and take a good look at them. From there we can catch up together with a full set of printed proofs and my samples at your place and chat about your favourites – if you need help with suggestions on how to best showcase your favourite images, then that’s what I love doing most!
Dave + Ana + Raine + Carys
I spent a gorgeous afternoon with this family climbing the biggest, blackest rocks, collecting shells and wetting our feet in the ocean. They laughed and cuddled and simply enjoyed hanging out together. Coming from Canada, this family have been living in Brisbane for a couple of years now and chose this location
Dom + Jude + Archie + Chester
Gotta love this family – spunky, fun, good looking and just so, so cool! I really enjoyed photographing these guys. We got to hang out together and tell bad jokes (well, mine were bad) then play hand ball and check out some Lego. What else would you want to do during your

HELFUL INFORMATION
LOCATIONS
There are so many awesome locations in and around Brisbane – and the best part is, you don’t have to travel far to get to most of them. You may love the look of an urban background or prefer something pretty, green and manicured. Maybe you have no idea at all and that’s ok because when we chat I’ll send you some links to heaps of locations that you can consider. Head on over to my blog and scroll through some sessions – if there’s somewhere that you absolutely love, I can let you know where it is. Some of my favourite sessions start at my families homes and then we go for a stroll. Seriously, the list is endless.
WHAT TO WEAR
This is the fun part – seriously!
Choose clothing that reflects the personality of each member of your family. Be sure that they love what they’re wearing and that you love it too! Remember, you may want to hang some photos on your walls so keep in mind the mix of colours and patterns that you’ve chosen. Sometimes keeping to a simpler palette of maybe 3 or 4 colours, makes co-ordinating outfits so much easier.
BEST TIME OF THE DAY FOR YOUR FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION
It’s all about the light – I want you to have beautiful, flattering light for your family images – no squinty eyes or hot sun making you feel uncomfortable. That’s why your session won’t ever be in the middle of the day. I love to photograph either early in the morning at 7.30am or late in the afternoon about an hour and a half before the sun sets. It’s always gorgeous then!
CANDID & CLASSIC FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY
I absolutely love candid photos – images that are relaxed and unexpected showing your family interacting with each other. I’ll be sure to have these in your gallery to enjoy but … I also absolutely love the classic family portrait. This is the one with everyone looking at the camera and smiling. The one that Nana will probably love the most. To be honest, it really is a very timeless image that captures everyone as they are at this time in their lives. So you’ll get a big combination of both – and I know you’ll love them!
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- My family aren’t really excited about having their photo taken. What should I do?
I hear this quite a bit. It’s always a good idea to show them some recent sessions on my blog so they can see other family sessions. I won’t be getting them to sit in any studio or ask them to do anything awkward or uncomfortable. Seriously, we’re going to hang out and have a few laughs and the best part is that at the end you’ll have a collection of images that I know you’ll love. - My child has just lost a front tooth. Should I wait?
There will always be reasons why you should wait to have your family photographed but I firmly believe in the saying ‘there’s no time like the present’. The photos from your family session are a reflection of who your family is at this particular time in your lives. I want you to see love and laughter and everything that you want to remember in years to come. A couple of missing teeth will just add to the memories. - Do you offer Collections that I must buy from?
No. I truly believe that no two families are alike and I don’t want you to be locked into a Collection that may have pieces that you don’t need or love. You are under no obligation to buy anything at all. Of course, I absolutely hope you LOVE your images so much so that you can’t decide how to enjoy them all – that’s why you chose to have a family session, right? To have beautiful and memorable images that are a reminder of your family at this time in your lives. - What Product do you offer?
I offer small prints, table frames, a beautiful brag book or storybook album, digital files and wall art. The wall art includes canvas, custom framed fine art prints and superb acrylic pieces. I have samples of all these products as well as a Product Catalogue that I can email to you with photos and prices as a guide.
- How will I know the best way to showcase my favourite photos?
After you’ve had time to look at your online gallery of images, most families like me to visit them in their home with my samples and also a full set of printed proofs. There’s no extra cost to you for this – it’s included in your session fee. I can then help you to cull down to your favourites and suggest options to enjoy them – whether that be in a Storybook album or maybe a beautiful gallery of custom framed fine art prints. I’ll work within your budget and also the space you have in your home to create something very beautiful that you can treasure for a lifetime. - How do we know if you’re the right family photographer for us?
Great question! I’m dedicated and passionate about creating beautiful, timeless images for you to enjoy with your children and their children. I’ve been an accredited member of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography and have won many awards for my images both at State and National levels, so can feel comfortable knowing that you’re in good hands. What’s equally important is that you love the style of photos that I create!
WHAT CLIENTS ARE SAYING
“After thinking about having professional family pictures taken for some time, I finally did. Engaging Leanne was the best decision I made. She is certainly gifted and has a natural passion for her work. She listened and captured exactly what I envisaged. She managed the whole process simplistically, guiding me every step of the way. I now have a beautiful storybook to show off and reflect on when the boys are away. It was such a fun afternoon that the boys enjoyed also as can be seen in the images.”
SUE
“The best part about working with Leanne was how easy going she was and how she related so well to my son. She made all our ideas work perfectly and I loved that she photographed the two of us in a location that was familiar and very special to us both. She can make anywhere look good! I’d recommend Leanne, particularly to single parents like myself, who may think it’s too indulgent to have a session. The day was so much fun!”
MICHELE
“The photos of my boys really capture their individual characters and their lovely quirkiness . I just love them so much. The photos are gold and the ability to capture that is a god given talent. Leanne is also very good at dressing a room with beautiful photos. Her ability to identify the photos that were keepers, guide me to what products suited my space and place them thoughtfully in my home was really the full service and invaluable. She kept me within my budget and with a sense of wanting to do it all again in a few years.”
